I am a retired Science Instructor at Arlington High School where I currently teach Chemistry. In my 31 years in education I spent 19 cumulative years as an AHS instructor; formerly having taught at Arlington Middle School, and Barret's Chapel School.I served two consecutive years as one of thirty-five teachers selected by The Tennessee Department of Education as TCAP Assessment Development Ambassadors. We provided ongoing input and feedback to the department and its TNReady vendors for the TCAP assessment program.I was selected as a 2015-2016 State Collaborative on Reforming Education (SCORE) Tennessee Educator Fellow, which empowered me to collaborate with educators from across Tennessee to advocate for students and educators at the state level, and provided opportunities for me to network with like-minded professionals seeking to elevate the conversation about education policy and practices in Tennessee. I am a former state level Teacher of the Year Finalist (2002) and continue to use my compilation of skills and knowledge to enhance the educational successes for all my students, and students across the state of Tennessee.
