Promotion - Assistant Manager The promotion to assistant manager required me to further develop my customer service, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. It is my job to actively listen to customer feedback and to ensure that the associates are providing the best customer service that they can. I am responsible for addressing any customer complaints or situations and determining a solution that both satisfies the customer and falls within the companies guidelines and expectations. It is important to ensure that the customer feels like they were heard and that their issue was adequately addressed in order to ensure their continued patronage.    I am also responsible for being the first contact for employees when they experience a problem or situation in which they need the assistance of a manager. I am required to assess the situation and determine an outcome that benefits the growth of the employee and the protects the assets and the brand of the company. If I am unable to determine the best course of action on my own, then I elevate the situation to the Store Manager and together we determine the proper course of action. Promotion - Shift Manager My new responsibilities as a shift manager included ensuring that all associates were completing their required tasks on their shifts. I was responsible for making sure that all cleaning lists, shift paperwork, and end of shift paperwork were being fully completed and that the changeover from one shift to another went smoothly. Associate I started with the company as an associate at the Sunoco Convenience Store in Gas City, Indiana. I began as a part-time employee. I was the night time cashier that also closed down the store at the end of the business day.    Accomplishments  I helped customers with their everyday needs. I assisted them with getting in and out of the store as quickly and conveniently as possible.    Skills Used  My people skills and my ability to accurately handle money.

ResponsibilitiesI was responsible for managing the Circulation District Managers. I was responsible for enforcing company policy. I hired and terminated employees. I managed the departments budget and oversaw customer service, delivery methods, and service expectations. I assisted District Managers with anything they needed and approved or aided in altering their managerial decisions when needed.    AccomplishmentsI reduced the number of complaints per 1,000 customers serviced from 9.0 to approximately 2.5-3.5 depending on the month. I redirected the District Managers to focus on customer delight rather than catering to their subordinates.
