Curtis Watson has enjoyed a career in the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) Industry, spanning nearly 30 years. He began his journey working for consulting engineering companies as a drafter, drafting manager, and mechanical designer for the first 8 years.In 2002, Curtis joined University Mechanical Contractors, Inc. (UMC) in Mukilteo, Washington, where he took on the role of a plumbing and piping detailer. During his almost 17-year tenure at UMC, Curtis played a significant role in the VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) process for numerous high-profile projects in the Seattle area. These projects included hospitals, cancer research centers, wastewater treatment plants, high-rise office buildings, and district heating plants, among others. For 10 of those years, he served as the VDC Manager, leading his team to adopt cutting-edge VDC technologies.In 2018, Curtis made a career move to GTP Software, taking on the role of Director of Customer Success. His hard work and dedication led to a promotion in 2022, when he became the Chief Product Officer (CPO). In his current position, Curtis is actively involved in the development and implementation of new software solutions for the AEC Industry.Beyond his professional life, Curtis finds enjoyment in various hobbies. He spends his spare time engaging in DIY/home improvement projects, exploring home automation, indulging in gaming (specifically World of Warcraft), and enjoying activities like Tennis and hiking. Most importantly, he cherishes spending quality time with his wife and two teenagers.
