Developing players (10th - college sophomore), compiled a record of 18-4 in two seasons with two tournament championships, this years team finishing 10-1. Team averaging 60.4 points a game with High School rules, with one practice a week. We had 10 offensive sets, 3 defenses, 2 press breaks, 2 presses, 2 side out plays, and 5 baseline out of bounds sets.

Personal instructor for the sports of Basketball, Baseball, and Softball. Give individual instruction of improving players shot, shot selection, rebounding, defense, and learn roles in play development. For the outdoor sport of baseball and softball I help players with the main objection of hitting, pitching and field work in their position.Instilling the theory that an athlete with more than one position is more important than one that can only do one thing.

Developing and coaching players in the Upward League, seven years each for boys and girls. Teach the basic fundamentals of the game for players k-8th grade while also providing the Lords word of God.

At Winburn Middle School went 5-6, an improvement as the other combined sports never won a game, while every sports team went winless for 2 years prior. School district would not allow us to play outside the city, only 10 middle schools. Record 4-5 in league play and 1-1 in tournament play.

At Burgin was instructional assistant to special education teacher for autism child.Also MS Boys Basketball Coach and went 5-6, an improvement from previous season of 1-10. Worked with 33 players in the program in practices, with 13 of these players playing high school varsity for the next one to five years.

In 07-08 at West Jessamine Middle School as head 7th grade coach, went 17-8, with 18 players eventually playing high school varsity for the next one to six years.

At Florida’s Pensacola Junior College in the Panhandle Conference, was a volunteer coach for 5 years, (2001-2005) with a combined record for those five years 111-56. While working on a Masters Degree at University of West Florida (2001-2003) and as a Special Education teacher in the Escambia School District, (2004-2006). In those five years helped 25 players graduate and move on to four year schools and another 4 moving on after one year to these schools: U. of Pittsburgh, U. of Central Florida, U. of Southern Indiana, U. of Montana, Kansas State, Campbellsville University, Montana State, Embry-Riddle U., Hawaii-Pacific, South Carolina-Aiken, Detroit-Mercy, Seton Hill U., Jarvis Christian, Georgia State, Gardner-Webb, U. of South Florida, Florida International, Bevill State Community College, U. of Nevada Las Vegas , U.C. Santa Barbara, Southeastern Louisiana, Binghamton, East Central University, Dakota State U., Cal State Bakersfield, Coastal Carolina, Stillman, Trinity International U. and U. of Florida. One player was on U. of Florida’s back to back championships. Nine players playing professionally at: Idaho G-League, Lithuania, Servia, Australia, Argentina, Germany American Basketball Association, Republic of Georgia, Brussels and 1 player playing in the NBA for 11 seasons and winning 3 championship rings.

In 1998-99 at Henry Clay High School in Lexington, Kentucky was head freshman boys basketball coach and was 19-6 with one of these players going to a Division I college.

In 1995-98 at Clarinda Academy in Clarinda, Iowa was head varsity boys basketball coach with a combined record of 36-27, each year going 13-9. Clarinda Academy was at the time a school for adjudicated boys from around the United States largest cities that came to Clarinda Academy for rehabilitation purposes and to recoup their academic standing to either graduate at Clarinda or go back to their home state’s school and be in good academic standing for graduation in the future. When I arrived there in 1995 practices were held in an auditorium for stage plays on a flat small surface that was made of vinyl tiles. During the first two years we played every game away due to our small practice facility. In his last year a 1.1 million dollar facility was built and the program went to a varsity, junior varsity and freshman programs. All three programs won their first game in the building on opening night. Both assistants are still coaching at a high school/overseas in Africa and the other as college head coach. John Henry at William Penn University which has been a MCC Coach of the Year twice, (2006-07), (2012-13).

In 1994-95 was men’s assistant basketball coach at Teikyo-Marycrest University with a record of 11-22. Helped with player development with the team and floor coaching. Ryan Dieckman and Justin Shiltz both named MCC All Conference Honorable Mention. Before leaving for Clarinda Academy on November 14, 95-96 did pre-season workouts with the team and helped work them individually with offensive moves and defensive discipline. Jason Valejo was named MCC All Conference Team First Team, and Chad Carpenter MCC All Conference Honorable Mention.Was also girls assistant coach at Davenport Assumption High School where I mentored the coach and helped with player development, record 15-5.Was also head 7th grade girls coach at Blackhawk Middle School during the 2nd quarter of the school year, record 9-3.

In 1990-91 was named head women’s basketball coach at Mount St. Clare College, record 2-22. Hired on October 15 didn’t leave room to recruit, but with only three returning players and no recruiting over the summer the program was doomed. Coach recruited the student population and filled a team of ladies with hardly any high school experience. In 1988-89 was assistant men’s basketball coach at Mount St. Clare College under Jerome Johnson. We brought in 25 new recruits, Wayne being responsible for 13 of those players. Was JV head coach with a record of 9-1. Was with the team up to the middle of January when he left the team for a full time job. Team was 2nd in quality points for NAIA playoffs at the time with a record of 10-5. The team finished the season 10-20 and did not make the playoffs. Tommy Eckles and Antione Riley were named as MCC All Conference Team for the first year of the new conference.Started collegiate coaching in 1987-88 as assistant men’s basketball coach at Mount St. Clare College under Jay Dull. The basketball team just joined NAIA status from being club status the previous six years. With academic misfortune the team in January went back to club status to fulfill contract obligations to finish the season, record 5-15.Also AAU 14u head coach in April of 1988 for one tournament with a group of 8th graders that did not win a game with their schools head coach, went 5-1 with a 2nd place finish, losing that game by 3 points. Mentoring these kids into just believing in themselves and believing in their teammates.
