Reading and suggesting changes to SOP’s based on changes to policies, as well as changes to operations. • Directing and supervising drilling personnel in rig operations, equipment maintenance & safety practices• Liaising between crew and oil company in order to create a dynamic & productive work environment. Reading & understanding the drilling program, making decisions based on program & suggesting amendments to programs based on experience. • Organizing & managing equipment onsite; also in charge of operating various drilling rigs (top drive, ADR, brake handle, horizontal, vertical, dst’s, coring, & various other drilling operations.)• Attending safety meetings to ensure safety documentation and procedures are in place prior to start up. Part of one of the safest drilling fields in the world. • Completing visual safety checks prior to operating various tools, equipment and machinery• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends and technologies through direct field experience, industry affiliations and the completion of relevant courses.
