This position was directly linked to my A Level studies and was a placement scheme in my Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (Level 3) in Pre-Teaching.This teaching placement for a full academic year had me working closely with a year 7 English class which had me working as a teaching assistant and occasionally teaching full lessons, creating lesson plans, resources and marking work. I undertook a full day of placement every Wednesday (to fit around my full A level timetable) and had to create a portfolio in which I was assessed for my performance and skills acquired. The position was challenging as it gave me a lot of direct responsibility over the welfare of pupils and ensuring lessons were delivered effectively and efficiently. This position had me working often with very demanding children which required me to be attentive and alert as to when to diffuse a situation. Certificate of Personal Effectiveness Level 3 (CoPE) was awarded to me on completion of my placement teaching program and an associated portfolio of skills I have accrued both practical and theoretical in relation to:- teaching- communication- problem solving - time management- planning (lesson plans)- social skills and empathetic skillsThe teaching role required a DBS check and had full responsibility over the welfare of myself, the children and the permanent teacher. The placement devolved tasks to me that had high levels of responsibility:- marking work- teaching full lessons- creating learning material- class and student interaction
