About Curtis Carter

I am passionate about Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP). I stay up to date on these topics, and I am active with a research study group at UT Austin. I have researched, designed, and deployed multiple state of the art models for clients in banking and insurance. My current focus is on the topic of sequential decision making under uncertainty (Contextual Bandits), and their application in the real world. Previously I did research on large-scale language models and their application to multiple NLP tasks. I am also a software developer with years of experience writing software for a variety of tasks. The areas of study I enjoy most are Natural Language Processing, Neural Networks, Machine Learning, and statically typed Functional Programming.Topics of interest: Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Artificial Neural Networks (Deep Learning), Haskell, Scala, Python.
