I am a cardiovascular medicine, critical care, and clinical informatics fellow in training at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Mass General Brigham interested in improving research and healthcare delivery with data science and informatics tools. I completed my medical school training at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. During medical school, I also obtained an MBA through the University of Chicago Booth School of Business where I pursued concentrations in entrepreneurship and statistics, focusing on machine learning, natural language processing, and healthcare data analytics coursework. My research interests include the development of phenotyping and risk prediction models using multimodal time series data (invasive hemodynamic, device, imaging, and unstructured clinical note data). I am interested in the development and commercialization of new technology to help provide better care to patients and to make existing research efforts more efficient.Outside of school, I co-founded a healthcare IT and nursing services company called TimeDoc Health. TimeDoc develops customized, embedded EHR solutions that enable physicians and care teams to coordinate and receive revenue for care of their patients with chronic medical conditions outside of traditional office visits. TimeDoc was started during the Polsky New Venture Challenge and has grown to serve private medical practices, rural health clinics, and federally qualified health centers across the nation.I am a data scientist by training and enjoy exploring large data sets. Several of my past projects include a deep neural network to identify pathology on chest X-rays, mortality prediction using ECGs, natural language processing to identify industry funded clinical trials using trial description text available from the NIH, and text mining to identify fake news articles.
