I am a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST) with a decade and a half of hands-on, real-world experience in a variety of industries. My career has allowed me to have a positive impact on the wellbeing of personnel (and on the bottom line for many large and small companies) by providing both on-site and remote EHS leadership to facilities across the globe in varying capacities -- from sole contributor to leading a team of seasoned and credentialled EHS professionals.I have successfully led EHS Management system development and roll-out in facilities undergoing acquisition/merger, in unionized and non-union facilities, and within organizations operating facilities in different industry sectors (with varying regulatory oversight -- i.e. OSHA vs. MSHA). My approach to Environmental, Health & Safety management is simple -- do the right thing, and don't overcomplicate it! As a result of this approach, my teams have consistently delivered sustainable EHS solutions that resulted in improved safety awareness and culture, as well as reductions in incident and injury rates. Complicated programs (while they look GREAT on paper) are often difficult for end-users to understand. As a result, they are often not followed or used. If people don't understand a procedure or what is expected of them, how can we expect them to use it?
