Everyone has someone in their life who has had a positive influence on them professionally; a manager, a teacher, a mentor, a coach. I have had the great fortune of working with several mentors who guided me on my path to senior executive and CEO roles. But for many leaders, it becomes more difficult as their responsibilities grow, to identify people who are truly interested in their success and will provide a safe environment for confidential discussions and learning, with no hidden agendas. Paying it forward is central to the coaching I offer when helping other leaders attain their goals. A significant percentage of my engagements come from Vistage Worldwide, the world’s leading business advisory and executive coaching organization. I chair a group with eighteen members at the chief executive level. Other groups I lead and coach include trusted advisors, peer advisory, key executives, and emerging leaders. My focus is mentoring growth-minded business owners whose companies generate between $5 million and $200 million to help them achieve breakthrough and sustainable growth, while maintaining a balanced lifestyle. I also coach clients who are unsure how to transition ownership in succession planning between generations. I continue to coach the next generation in family-owned businesses to get to the next level. I also coach entrepreneurs who feel stuck. My coaching is based on three key areas:Learn - To learn from the experience of their peers, their own experience and the coaching, training and information that is shared through numerous platforms. Change - To change when it makes sense to do so and have the conviction to implement change within their organizations. Grow - To grow as a person first, and then as a leader. Regained the technical leadership position for the Precision Amplifier business and establish a Bipolar and CMOS amplifier strategy and product roadmap. Established a new strategy for the power management business with a balanced portfolio resulting in 40% growth in FY02 with 100% growth in FY03. In 2007 the computing portion of the Power Management of this business was acquired by On Semiconductor for $85M. Member of ADI’s Senior Management Team (SMT, sponsored by the CEO), which is responsible for the strategic and tactical plans for the corporation. -
