During my 18 years of practice as an attorney, my focus has been on providing high quality legal research and writing. My experience includes work on products liability, medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, and trucking cases. I also have significant experience with insurance coverage issues that arise in plaintiff personal injury cases. I enjoy helping to build a plaintiff's case through legal research to develop theories and flesh out issues; analysis and consultation on procedural and strategic issues; work with experts; and jury focus group work. My strengths include deploying complex facts and law in a clear and focused way to defend against dispositive motions, as well as other motion practice. I have briefed and argued appeals to Maine's Law Court on insurance coverage and on damages in a wrongful death suit. I am currently contracted as a co-author of Maine Tort Law.I have had the opportunity to work on numerous cases resulting in eight figure verdicts or settlements, including extensive research, briefing, and work with experts on an electrical injury case tried to a $22.4 million verdict in 2014; jury focus group work on a truck crash with catastrophic injuries tried to a $25 million verdict in 2023; and significant work on wrongful death and catastrophic personal injury cases resulting in outstanding settlements for the clients. Although my work focuses on research and writing, it is guided by the goal of helping clients obtain the compensation and justice they deserve, to help them move forward after catastrophic loss. After practicing at two different mid-size law firms, I started my own firm to provide high quality research and writing to other attorneys.
