As an actor and a filmmaker my job consists of many different things outside of being in front of or behind the camera.As an actor:Find new clients who are producing videos and network with them. Create relationships and nurture with other filmmakers and producers. Given tight deadlines, I am to study and memorize new information and perform it convincingly as my own.Create and build rapport while on set and working directly with the clients.As a voice actor and audio book narrator, my job is to cold call and reach out to authors and or publishers to sell my services. Other voice work comes through similar channels as film and television acting. Part of both of these jobs is also maintaining positive and mutually beneficial relationships with my agents and managers.As a filmmaker my job includes more of the fine detailed back end work. From writing a story and making sure that it stays interesting and moving and hitting the points we need it to hit; to finding and organizing all of the locations, equipment, production dates, food (meals and snacks for enough people), hiring and the crew and actors. On the day of production my job is to make sure everything is running smoothly, by overseeing multiple departments; camera, sound, performance, set and set safety, and craft services.After the film is finished shooting, my job shifts into making sure edits are coming along and putting the film together. Once we have all of those pieces constructed, my job shifts once again to now getting the film to be seen.
