Retired after 28yrs of active duty service across a wide swath of the U.S. Coast Guard's statutory missions and worldwide AOR. Currently adapting to life without a fixed schedule and sorting out what I want to learn next.

Responsible for all national and law enforcement intelligence collection, exploitation, and dissemination within USCG Atlantic Area's geographic area of operation from the Arctic to the Antarctic and from the Rocky Mountains to the Arabian Gulf. Responsible for programmatic guidance and resourcing of 500 intelligence professionals (uniformed and civilian) conducting activities under Title 50 and Title 14 authorities as part of both the U.S. Intelligence Community and Law Enforcement Community.

Responsible for the only two 24/7 command and response centers in the U.S. Coast Guard's Headquarters. The National Command Center is responsible for collecting, fusing, and disseminating all national and local USCG information for senior leaders within the Service, plus the Department of Homeland Security. The NCC also serves as the main communication hub for all other U.S. federal government departments and agencies seeking to coordinate information and operations with USCG forces throughout the world. The National Response Center is the 24/7 watch for 38 U.S. federal agencies and departments monitoring environmental hazards, spills into waterways, railway incidents, and cyber security situations. Organized and operating within USCG Headquarters, the NRC is funded by, staffed by, and responsible to other agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency and Federal Railroad Administration. The NRC takes in 50,000 reports per year via it's internationally known hotline and distributes appropriate reporting to hundreds of federal, state, local, tribal, and international organizations responsible for a wide variety of environmental and safety missions. The position is also responsible for operating the USCG Commandant's Situation Room, ensuring 24/7 secure communications between the Commandant and senior leaders of every U.S. federal agency and department.

Six patrol boats and 266 personnel who are the longest and furthest deployed U.S. Coast Guard contribution to Department of Defense efforts in far flung places. Since 2002, PATFORSWA has provided key law enforcement, shiphandling, shallow water, and low end war fighting capabilities to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command in the Arabian Gulf. We work to enhance the professionalism of partner nations within the region, suppress maritime smuggling, prevent piracy, and present a "friendlier" face of the Department of Defense's presence in this region.

Responsible for managing the work force and resources that maintain all the Coast Guard ships in California.

Responsible for managing the policy, strategy, and resources for maintaining the 260 ships and 1800 boats of the entire U.S. Coast Guard.

Full time graduate student at the University of Michigan in the U.S. Coast Guard's naval architecture and marine engineering post graduate program. Remained as a full time active duty member, but had only my studies as an employment requirement.
