I am a Registered Phlebotomy Technician with Arizona State Society of American Medical Technologist's. Currently employed with Sonora Quest Laboratory. My goal is to eventually be able to teach Phlebotomy and pass on the skills that I have aquired. I have worked in a hospital setting for 1 year at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Phoenix, Az as well and Tempe St. Luke's in Tempe, Az. At the time of employment in Tempe, the hospitals second floor was specifically for inmates from Florence and across the state. St. Luke's Medical Center has a Psychiatric ward and Behavior Health ward for recovering addicts as well as a children"s behavior ward. The phoenix hospital also has a burn unit, Bariatric and Geriatric Units. My experience at these hospitals taught me to draw in a variety of settings with different types of people.Currently I work alone within a Dr.'s office with very little supervision. Specimen collections include stool, urine, spit, sputum and breath for H-Pylori testing. I am responsible to create requisitions using Care 360 for tests ordered and processing them for the testing facility. I have done bleeding time tests, glucose and lactose testing. My specialty with Sonora Quest is Pediatrics and Geriatrics. The office I presently work in is 80% Geriatric Patients. It would be a privilege to pass on my experience to people who are considering this profession.
