Instructional Designer
CurrentCollaborates with instructors and staff on the design, development, and delivery of high-quality learning experiences in a variety of delivery modes (online, face-to-face, hybrid, etc.).Works collaboratively with instructors, Learning & Technology staff, and others as needed to design, develop, and deliver high-quality learning experiences (courses, seminars, etc.) for students.Helps instructors adopt evidence-based, effective course design and delivery practices, emphasizing Universal Design for Learning, in a variety of educational settings (e.g., online, face-to-face, hybrid, and flipped classes). Answers instructor questions regarding the Institute’s Learning Management System (Moodle), fluently works with the LMS and HTML to provide assistance to instructors in setting up course structures, ensuring course accessibility, etc.Coaches instructors in creating and using engaging, effective multimedia/online teaching and learning tools, and in integrating these tools and other useful technologies into teaching/learning processes. Reviews courses and educational materials for quality and accessibility; provides both formative and summative feedback to instructors; provides ideas and examples for implementing feedback.Assists Learning & Technology staff with testing and support of LMS plugins, assists instructors with the use of LMS plugins and other LMS-integrated educational materials.Assists Learning & Technology staff and others (e.g., Student Accessibility Services) in identifying and implementing technology-related solutions for making courses/learning materials ADA compliant, and accessible for students with a broad range of physical abilities and/or who are neurodivergent.Works both independently and collaboratively with Learning & Technology staff to develop and deliver high-quality training sessions/workshop/tutorials in a variety of delivery modes (online, face-to-face, hybrid, etc.) for instructors.
