At Tetra Tech I worked primarily in hazardous waste cleanup. I served as sample coordinator for several large (>10 staff) drilling and sampling efforts at ammunition plants. At ORNL I worked for the Bioenergy Feedstock Development Program managing highly instrumented tree plantations for water, nutrient and erosion modelling. The research examined the ability of bioenergy plantations to restore sites degraded through many years of continuous row cropping.

At the Energy Institute I assisted on a project to source biofuels for the proposed campus boiler retrofit. I travelled the area looking for fuels, conducting chemical and thermal analysis of the fuels and determining whether each potential fuel could be part of a viable biomass fuel mix.
