Curt Rohner has a BS in Architectural Engineering and is a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). He has three years of experience in mechanical systems design and his portfolio includes a range of sustainable, educational, and retail projects.Curt is a Co-Founder and Board Member for Historic Green, a nationally organized non-profit effort to transform and revitalize communities through education and charitable activities that integrate sustainable design and heritage conservation practices.Additionally, as Chair of the Emerging Green Builders committee Curt has led the effort working with the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Planning Studio804, a design-build program within the school. The class designed and constructed the first LEED Platinum building in the State of Kansas. The committee acted as sustainabilityconsultants and Curt’s responsibilities included the energy modeling for the facility and assisting with the LEED documentation and submittals. In less than nine months, the first Platinum building in Kansas was erected in Greensburg and certified LEED Platinum in June 2007. The committee will continue its partnership with Studio 804 which will design and construct one of the first LEED Platinum homes in the State of Kansas. Construction is proposed to be completed by May of 2009.Curt is also involved with Greensburg Greentown, a local non-profit which includes the design and construction of a series of 12 unique sustainable homes that will serve as models for regional specific green building and are currently under construction.Specialties: Building Energy Analysis, Sustainability Consultation, Historic Preservation
