Creative Bid Lead
Marketing And Communications Lead
In this empowering role, I catalysed impactful change. I oversaw and amplified communications within our thriving business and the dynamic water industry sector, connecting with around 1000 inspiring individuals. My creative flair ignites as I expertly craft compelling pitch tenders, produce captivating videos, and collaborate closely with C-suite leaders across MWH Treatment's diverse regions.
Creative Document Specialist
Acting as brand ambassador for the firm, working to very tight client deadlines, ensuring all work is 100 per cent accurate, adhering to brand and house style. The majority of the work is designed in PowerPoint and Word as these are the ‘core’ applications used by my clients. As a Creative Document Specialist at Freshfields, I support numerous lawyers and executive stakeholders in creating clear and concise digital communications.
Freelance Designer
• As a freelance designer, I faced the challenging task to create a compelling digital presentation within a tight timeframe for a crucial multi-million-pound opportunity with a top water company. The objective was to surpass conventional PowerPoint pitches and craft a winning presentation that would amaze my client and captivate the audience. • Collaborating with senior stakeholders, I took the lead in the creative pitch process. Despite the remote work challenges during the pandemic, I dedicated additional hours beyond the standard schedule to collaborate effectively with my client. Within a week, I successfully delivered the presentation while adhering to the client's branding guidelines. • The outcome was exceptional - the powerful presentation not only met my client's expectations but also impressed the water company and its leadership team. This project showcased my ability to excel under pressure, delivering high-quality designs that delighted both clients and audiences alike.
Visual Designer
In both public and private sectors, I crafted personalised pitch materials, empathising with clients' branding. My expertise in typography, colour, and design ensured clear and consistent visuals for print and screen. As a creative lead, I engaged with bid-winning teams in London, earning admiration across the business. Leading daily workshops and meetings with internal and external stakeholders, I identified opportunities to enhance Wates' presentation to prospective clients, streamlining processes along the way.
Lead Creative
As Lead Creative at LIMA, I orchestrated all visual communications. A standout project was revamping the website for the IT-managed service provider. The previous site had low lead generation due to its complex design and unclear user interface. I led a ground-up redesign, conducting design workshops, negotiating with agencies, developers, and users, and gaining buy-in from stakeholders. Collaborating with my exceptional team, I pushed my craft's boundaries, honing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills to bring visual designs to life. The result was a market-leading, responsive website that transformed the user experience and propelled the company forward.
Freelance Designer
• I pioneered and led the creative work on what would eventually become one of Severfield’s most significant contract wins worth £50m - the construction of Google’s brand new flagship HQ in London’s King’s Cross. For the tech giant, this was the first, wholly owned and designed Google building outside of the U.S.• From the initial brief to the end result - an engaging cross-channel design, I supported a collaborative approach. I engaged with colleagues at all levels, from the steelwork welders at various Severfield sites to the executive officers overseeing the project.• Google required Severfield to demonstrate within its pitch how Severfield’s culture fits with Google’s own, using a 2-minute ‘YouTube-style video which I filmed at locations across the UK and edited to very tight deadlines for Severfield.
Senior Designer
• During my 10+ years at MWH, I advanced from working within a creative team to leading them. I worked in various design disciplines and engaged with global marketing, brand and creative leads. I also began my journey in visual storytelling by employing the use of video. I worked within and collaborated with agile and multidisciplinary teams across the globe with colleagues at all levels right up to the global CEO. These experiences led me to discover and develop my talents to realise my passion for creating beautiful, engaging digital designs.• After hearing of my many successes at MWH, one of the Directors at the global headquarters in Colorado asked for me personally to fly out to lead the creative direction on their highest-valued tender (as at the time). The bid was for the Qatari Government. Working on the print tender document in Colorado, I was then flown out for the presentation to the client in Qatar.• Before taking the creative lead, I mentored and inspired others in my team, for example, I noticed that one of the marketing assistants had a keen eye for design. After exploring this with her, I helped her grow as a designer by shaping her work opportunities and supporting her development. I shared best practices and expert knowledge in design software.
Freelance/Art Editor Roles
Amongst others, Wilmington Publishing own B2B titles Wine & Spirit International and Drinks Bulletin as well as the consumer title What Van? As Art Editor on all three of these magazines, I was required to create aesthetically pleasing, visual layouts whilst ensuring on-time delivery of all publications to extremely strict print deadlines.I managed multiple workloads within a fast-paced environment working with a tight-knit and diverse team of writers, designers and sales managers, supporting colleagues at short notice and building upon my great communication skills to ensure all deadlines were met.I never missed a deadline during my time as Art Editor.I also worked freelance on several luxury lifestyle titles, such as The Sharp Edge magazine backed by one ofthe original Dragons from the BBC Dragon’s Den, Duncan Bannatyne.
