About Kathy Koontz

Over the last 30 years, I have developed the strategy, implemented the technology and leveraged the power of data and analytics to create sustainable competitive advantage in organizations ranging from Fortune 100 to non-profits in consulting and industry roles. I have demonstrated success in building high-performing teams, driving organizational change, improving analytics maturity, and delivering omni-channel marketing capabilities. My unique combination of experience in both business and IT allows me to work effectively within and across the groups.I am currently retired...mostly. I will be providing advisory services to select clients throughK2 Data Strategy Advisors. My most recent position was Principal Data/AI Strategist AWS for Healthcare & Life Sciences. The potential to create new outcomes through a digital transformation using database, analytics, AI and ML is within the reach of all enterprises. AWS has changed the game by removing barriers to solving problems with purpose-built solutions and reduced complexity. We partner with our customers to move faster, with greater precision and far more ambitious scope to jumpstart their own data flywheel. Previously, I served as Consulting Director for Teradata's Customer Journey consulting practice, developing services, go to market messaging and organization design. The practice focused on using data, analytics and automated interactions to manage customer relationships. I've also served as Associate Vice President of Customer Analytics for Nationwide Mutual Insurance, a Fortune 100 company with more than $195 billion in statutory assets. I had responsibility for several different functions all focused on a singular goal--helping Nationwide make smarter decisions using data and analytics.I have demonstrated expertise in: marketing technology, process discipline, big data, change management and customer analytics.When not at work, you'll find me raising money for cancer research through Pelotonia, a grass-roots cycling community. Every August I ride 180 miles over two days for one goal, to end cancer. I'm an action sports junkie who enjoys hiking, white-water rafting and snow skiing with my husband and two daughters.
