The newsletter GDPR-Info.be provides information and guidance regarding the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the new European law about the protection of citizens' privacy, in Dutch and French. I am the editor in chief.Website : www.gdpr-info.beNumber of issues published by the end of 2019 : 40.Newsletters and books on other subjects are being prepared.

Optimco is a Belgian insurance company. Their database contains data about the customers and their insurance policies. The application is used by internal staff and insurance brokers.Optimco is now 10 years old, and decided to think about IT strategy, IT risk mitigation and business continuity. I helped them put their thoughts to paper. We produced several documents on these subjects.

Athlon Car Lease Belgium has about 40.000 vehicles. To process all the data about customers, contracts, cars, drivers, insurance policies etc, the company uses its custom-built software application.This application now needs some extensions; I help them with this by defining business needs, planning development and organising user training.

Minoc Business Press publishes the IT magazines Smart Business Strategies (a monthly magazine for business people about IT), IT Professional (a biweekly magazine for IT-managers), PC Magazine and Clickx Magazine. I have written many articles for Smart Business Strategies and IT Professional, in which I give explanations and advice to the reader.

The NMBS-SNCB group = the Belgian Railways. ICTRA is their IT department. I worked for about 3 years on the GENESIS project. The (internal) customer is NMBS-railway-operator, directie B-Technics. The Genesis group of applications is used to plan rolling stock and create the duty roster for train drivers and train conductors, for passenger trains and freight trains. (That was the original scope.) My main task was to organize the work of the two technical writers, who wrote the manuals for all the applications.I also worked on a smaller project, called ODIN. The (internal) customer is NMBS-railway-operator, directie B-Technics, department Ontledingscentrum (Fr: Centre d'analyse). The users analyse the data from the traction vehicles (in the NMBS jargon : Teloc tapes), and take action if they notice that a problem has occurred. On this project I worked as an analyst. I designed a new application for the Ontledingscentrum.

The members of Veiling Haspengouw (Limburg ) are fruit growers; the Veiling's mission is to sell the produce at a good price. Veiling Haspengouw is now reviewing its business processes, and creating new software. I help them to document the current and future business processes.

The FOD Kanselarij / SPF Chancellerie is responsible for organising many important recurring meetings: 'ministerraad'/'conseil des ministres', 'overlegcomité'/'comité de concertation' and others. The numerous documents for these meetings are kept in a data base, which can be accessed through an internet application. I studied the application, wrote the manual and taught the users (as a subcontractor to Siemens IS).

Sofim's customers are small businesses; together they employ tens of thousands of staff. Sofim uses the data transmitted by its customers to calculate the pay of the staff every month. Sofim wants to build an internet application for its customers; I helped them write the functional analysis.

Concentra (www.concentra.be) is the editor of "Het Belang van Limburg" and "Gazet van Antwerpen". Their IT department has 40 staff : 20 for development and 20 for operations. They wanted to define a procedure for the hand-over of a finished application from the development team to the operations team. I gave them a hand with this, and helped them with the hand-over of the six first applications.

J & J Bassem (www.bassem.be) is a family business. They design and create gardens for stately homes. Now and then they request my advice about miscellaneous IT problems and decisions.

Axa (www.axa.be) is a large bank and insurance company. It invests part of its capital (Jan 2003 : 1.200.000.000 EUR) in real estate. AXA Belgium Real Estate (30 staff) manages that property. Together with another consultant, I helped them document and improve their business processes, eg collecting rent and paying building contractors. This project was mostly about business process improvement; information technology was only a small part of the job.

Easy Computing publishes computer books and software; their language is Dutch.I wrote a book for them, in simple terms, to help business people manage an IT project : "Informatiseren zonder omwegen" (ISBN 90-76903-34-4).

VNU Business Publications Belgium publishes the IT magazines Data News, Computer Magazine and Computer Reseller News. Data News is their weekly magazine for IT people. It was created in 1979 and is very well known. I wrote several articles for this magazine.

CSC has its own methodology, Catalyst. I studied the parts Entity Modeling, Business Area Architecture, Workshop Facilitation and Project Management.
