Currently employed as a USAF Intelligence Analyst and a student of Cyber Operations at the University of Arizona, I am transitioning to the civilian sector, aspiring to be a Cyber Operations Specialist. I have a robust background in strategic operations management, team leadership, and intelligence analysis, alongside experience in cyber security. My academic program in Cyber Engineering is shaping my understanding of addressing evolving cyber threats.In the past two months, I interned with both the Recapture (Recap) and Linux Development teams, where I gained hands-on experience in equipment modernization, system imaging, and network security processes. I also obtained my Security+ certification after a focused month of study, which strengthened my understanding of system security and network defense.During my internship, I worked with cross-functional teams to upgrade and troubleshoot IT equipment, manage imaging errors, sanitize hardware for secure disposal, and track assets. I also collaborated with network teams to disable port security and ensure seamless imaging of new systems. Additionally, my experience shadowing Linux development engineers and the Infrastructure Team has given me a deeper insight into Linux systems provisioning and network infrastructure management.I have some experience in programming languages (Python and Assembly), tools like Security Onion/Kibana, and basic Linux command-line operations through college courses. I am eager to apply the skills and knowledge gained from my Air Force experience and academic studies to the cybersecurity field, where I aim to contribute to the protection of critical systems and networks.
