I've also led the growth of multiple teams including all aspects of hiring and training.As the first developer at LDD, I was pivotal in helping take an idea from the lab and turning it into a product and a company. Our group uses the principles of optical coherence tomography within a laser machining setup to realize in-situ imaging of laser processing. Using LabVIEW, I have created a software package for collecting, and analyzing the imaging data and for controlling the laser machining and the motion control. We take advantage of LabVIEW's DAQmx, and IMAQ software as well as it's GPU capabilities to achieve high-performance processing with the goals of 3D imaging and machining control and real time processing.

My research primarily involves the implementation of numerical techniques in Matlab and C++ for solving the local density of states in systems with arbitrary geometries and arbitrary materials. The goal is to enhance spontaneous emission of atoms or quantum dots for single photon applications. We use finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) techniques, and the coupled dipole method to calculate the photonic Green Function in systems such as: photonic crystal cavities, plasmonic systems, and negative index materials (metamaterials).
