I care deeply about impact at scale. I have had the opportunity to work across sectors on very challenging and exciting problems over my career of 25+ years. As an entrepreneur, I have built excellent teams, mobilized the necessary resources and focused on execution. The impact my work has had has been possible largely because of my ability to build relationships of trust with the private sector, non-profits, governments, think tanks, media, etc. Such coalitions are hard to build. But to solve the knottiest problems of our times, it is inevitable to create a big-tent approach, where we are able to leverage the strengths of each stakeholder group. My most recent work on digital public infrastructure has been very exciting and I look back with some satisfaction on my work over the past five years in this space. We have a unique civilizational window over the next decade. The choices we make now will determine the trajectory of our digital future over the next century. I look forward to playing an active part in shaping some of these critical technology and policy choices to ensure that the digital century ahead of us is truly inclusive, safe and equitable.When I am not thinking about impact, I love traveling with my family, watching movies, focusing on wellness, and hoping that I will break the inertia to resume my amateur water-color painting interest.

We engaged constructively with governments, private sector, not-for-profit organizations, policy think tanks, foundations etc. Our investments in partners such as MOSIP, World Bank's ID4D Trust Fund, UNECA, Smart Africa, WEF and many other partners around the globe resulted in driving important changes in the ID and safeguards ecosystem over the years. The 'privacy-tech' start-ups that we invested in have developed cutting edge market based approaches to privacy. The #GoodID campaign which we started in 2018 focused on discovering 'what good looks like', built a whole community of very engaged stakeholders on this issue around the globe. Our work with partners in Africa has injected important dimensions to the digital economy conversation on the continent. -

When I founded PRS in 2005, there was some doubt among many well wishers as to whether this initiative would succeed. After more than 15 years now, PRS has continued to expand its footprint across the country and is the most trusted go-to place for inputs and analysis on legislation. Legislators, cutting across political parties, continue to actively engage with colleagues at PRS on a range of policy issues. As part of my work at PRS, setting up the Legislative Assistant to Members of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship about a decade ago is something that I am very proud of. It has an acceptance rate of less than 5% and is consistently rated as one of the best fellowships in India for fresh college graduates seeking exposure to public policy. Many alumni have continued to do excellent work in public policy and politics after the fellowship.I continue to serve on the Board of PRS.

Co-Founder And Managing TrusteeAkshara Foundation Jan 2000 - Jun 2003BangaloreWe set up Akshara Foundation at the invitation of Government of Karnataka, and in partnership with corporate sector partners in Bangalore, with the goal of ensuring every child in school and learning. Within the first year, we were able to build a network of 800+ community managed preschools in the city. This rapid scaling up also opened up additional opportunities to work with 1000+ government schools in the city within the next two years. We identified and mentored high integrity and high energy youth leaders to lead the work - mostly young women from the disadvantaged communities we worked in. We scaled rapidly because we were able to build deep trust with the government, with the private sector, with local city council members, and a host of other stakeholders. For me, the leadership lessons from these experiences have shaped my thinking and belief systems over the years.Today, Akshara continues to have large scale impact on primary education in close partnership with the Govt of Karnataka. It has expanded to other neighboring states, working in close partnership with the respective governments. -
