Senior Lecturer and Head of the Cognitive Ability and Plasticity Laboratory at the University of Sheffield (http://www.claudiavonbastian.com/). We investigate individual differences in cognitive abilities and how they can change through experience. I am also developing Tatool Web, an open-source software package for programming experiments (www.tatool-web.com). Our current projects examine (1) mechanisms underpinning cognitive training effects, cognitive skills in (2) esports athletes and (3) in musicians, and (4) individual differences in working memory and attentional control. We use a range of methodologies from experimental and differential psychology, cognitive neuroscience and computational modelling.
