I take special interest in democratic innovations, referendum design and electoral processes. I enjoy working on these topics in the realms of research, advice, practice and training. As a member of multiple referendum expert committees, I advise local councils on referendum processes. I also volunteer as a moderator in a citizens' assembly process and as an international election observer. In my remaining spare time I enjoy cooking, beer tasting, squash, mountain biking, jigsaws and board games.

Consortium includes the universities of Tilburg, Utrecht, Nijmegen and Twente as well as the Netherlands Institute for Social Research (SCP) and a range of societal partners. Besides my research and the coordination of the REDRESS project I also supervise PhD and master's theses.
