Held an integral role on the project team for a large mixed-use building at a ski resort in Vermont (a children's ski school with food service facilities and multifamily housing above) during all phases of design, from early schematic design through 100% CD's, permitting, and construction administration.Held primary responsibility for 19 custom residential units totaling approximately 60,000 sf. Worked closely with principals and clients on the design of these units and developed multiple comprehensive design options and iterations.Managed the coordination process for the residential units with various consultants including structural, MEP, lighting, acoustical, audiovisual & telecommunications. Collaborated directly with consultants to design creative solutions.Gained experience on a fast-track project utilizing the Integrated Project Delivery method; worked together with the general contractor to reduce costs even as the design progressed, in order to meet the extremely tight project budget.Developed fluency in Revit BIM modeling and documentation.

I primarily worked to update Arkin Tilt's website using Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop, which allowed me to learn basic HTML. I wrote project descriptions and formatted photographs and drawings to add to their online portfolio. I was also responsible for the creation of a "Homeowner's Manual," a written document which would be given to clients upon the completion of each project. This document contained all of the information related to the performance and operation of the building and its respective features - essentially a user's guide designed to answer any potential questions the client might have in the future.

When I began working at the Placer Food Bank, it was in the midst of a major expansion in terms of both distribution area and operating budget. I helped established the nonprofit's first set of standard operating procedures in order to streamline the complicated process of receiving and distributing food. As a result, the Food Bank was more efficient in terms of getting food off of the shelves and out into the community to feed those in need.

During the two summers I spent at LPA, I gained hands-on experience in a broad range of functional assignments. These assignments included construction management responsibilities for several school districts as well as design work for a new college student center. I also led the site design for a new fast food restaurant location and assisted with site design for a large multi-use commercial promenade. I gained valuable experience while conducting site visits to meet with clients and builders and to inspect progress. I also developed fluency in drafting using Architectural Desktop and AutoCAD.
