A timeline of my life: I received my first computer, a Commodore 64 in 1983 and that spoiled me for life. I did, however, deviate from my calling by studying law at university - legal eagle television shows were very popular and glamorous at this stage. Due to monetary depletion, I was not able to complete my studies and I started generating income by developing bespoke dBase, Visual Basic and Microsoft Access applications for small businesses in the legal and auction fields.I have worked in all fields of the IT and computer industry: from building and configuring hardware, building and managing physical networks, software development and solutions architecture. I enjoy challenges and I learn on my feet.The two major and amazing influences for me were the Internet and cloud computing.I enjoy working on large, integration-based systems that require unique solutions. On large projects, team communication and a common, firm focus are key to the successful delivery of features. I have led and contributed to many teams that have delivered great value and improvement to the relevant business environments. I believe in the success of small, cross-functional teams to deliver high quality, agile solutions that drive businesses forward.People deliver their best when they work in a safe environment where they can exercise their mastery and autonomy with a clear purpose (Daniel Pink 2009).I enjoy the constant change and learning opportunities that cloud computing and the associated technologies provide. I learn something new every day.
