Identified key design criteria for battery pack that influence battery pack architecture so that optimal design concept could be selected and later concept iterations were avoided. Designed battery stack and structural components of battery pack from scratch that have been proven to meet stringent EASA regulation on thermal runaway safety (MOC-3 SC-VTOL) enabling continued safe flight and landing after 20% of cells are in thermal runaway, while still meeting weight and electrical safety requirements. Led team of design engineers to define detailed design data for 10 iterations of prototype hardware for thermal runaway and mechanical testing which provided key insights and enabled release for flight of detailed design within 2 years after concept definition. Conducted technical interviews for mechanical engineering roles in battery team to ensure cultural and skill fit.
