Accountable to provide strategic planning and daily operations for the Neuroscience service line at six acute care hospitals in the Sac-Sierra Region; serving Northern California with national and international patient referrals with annual gross revenue exceeding $450 M comprised of neurosurgery, neurology, spine, radio surgery, inpatient and outpatient neurodiagnostic services, and sleep disorder centers. The main campus is Sutter Medical Center, an 800 bed tertiary hospital which provides all major clinical services including Neuroscience, Cardiac, Orthopedics, Oncology, Pediatrics, and Transplant Services.• Attained 15% annual revenue growth in first three years and sustained performance in succeeding years with annual profitability in excess of 22%.• Led and developed 12 direct reports and 75 indirect clinical and technical staff including nursing, case management, radio-surgery, social work, and technicians.• Coordinated a care system with over 100 neuroscience physicians with one-third in aligned medical group and two-thirds in private practice. Developed recruitment strategy of physicians and supportive services to provide care among integrated acute hospitals and medical clinics.• Identified and implemented cost savings for surgical implants and supplies totaling over $3.5 million annually. • Mentored department managers in developing high performing teams; leading to turnaround in employee and patient satisfaction scores into the 90th percentile in the Press-Ganey and Hay Group databases.• Negotiated and managed multiple Medical Director Contracts, on-call arrangements, and professional service agreements• Conducted several inpatient and outpatient efficiency projects using Lean methodology. Certified in Six-Sigma/Lean techniques.• Prepared reports and recommendations for Neuroscience Governing Board related to strategy, capital, staffing and philanthropy.
