I am proud to say that I started my printing career as an apprentice working for UCB Packaging based in St Helens, later bought by Printpack. I served my time on both Flexo and Gravure presses gaining invaluable knowledge of both processes. After my apprenticeship I focused on Gravure printing with the occassional forray back into the world of Flexo. In '98 I transferred to Printpack Bury after the St Helens site was closed down and reversed my roles (becoming a regular on the Flexo side and occasionally working on Gravure presses). My experiences throughout this time include in line coatings and lamination too. I am currently running a 10 colour F&K direct drive flexo press, a position which I have held since it's recent installation in 2016.My recent learning experience at Leeds University has already shown its worth. I have made a couple of presentations on Sustainability and have been more involved with other projects that will help streamline our processes.
