The year is 2020, the world is shutting down as the Pandemic sweeps the globe. Businesses close, careers end overnight. You know this story, you’ve either lived it, witnessed it, or at minimum known someone who has.I enjoyed my Catering career, knowing I was overqualified with an astounding aptitude for learning! When offices no longer needed quality foods with amazing service, I felt sad and lost. This was my crossroads.... Then, my grandfather’s Facebook account was hacked, spreading unsightly images with malware links to family and friends. *💡* moment *ALL PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO USE AND ENJOY THEIR TECHNOLOGY WITHOUT WORRY OF RISK AND WITHOUT HAVING TO BE AN EXPERT* - "My cybersecurity credo"I realized I wanted to be part of the solution. A 🔥 was lit, burning as bright as the sun, fueled by my learning the skills needed to make a difference.I am eager to learn and grow in my new career field. I am passionate about Cybersecurity, from Penetration Testing and SIEM (I love making Dashboards 😊) to Social Engineering and Employee education/Policy.Now, after graduating with a Certificate of Cybersecurity from the University of Richmond (with an A+ 😁), I have an amazing plethora of newly attained skills. But with limited experience and no traditional bachelor’s degree, finding jobs became difficult especially with all of the Covid career changers competing for a limited number of roles.I love a challenge! I decided to build a strong IT foundation. I was offered a position as IT Lead, leveraging my managerial background and leadership skills. My IT roles afterwards have then included Field Service Tech and Help Desk Administrator, working with various help desk and sysadmin teams, including web administration (WordPress) and as a server manager (Windows & Linux).Now, after 3 years of experience and growth in my IT/IT Leadership skillset, I am confident and ready to use my technical skills while continuing to learn (w/ paid educational opportunities) the skills of tomorrow, including working with AI-generated content in various cloud environments and system automations.
