Taught computer programming in Scratch through Albany Parks & Rec, JBC Co-Op and Albany Homeschool Co-op to elementary and middle school students using a combination of the Google CS First project-based curriculum and skills-based curriculum created weekly to meet student interests.Filled in as the instructor for an Intro to Python class for high school co-op students for one term, taking a crash course in Python right ahead of the students and creating the curriculum and projects on the fly.Modified the K’Nex Simple Machines curriculum, which had a few math-intensive lessons and a few low-math lessons, to provide a complete set of lessons at both levels; created lessons for machines that K’Nex did not have any lesson plans.Transitioned all piano students to Zoom learning in 2020, completely overhauling teaching methods from past 24 years to meet the needs of distance learning Have taught reading and math skills to students with special needs and preschoolers. Wrote a math quiz program used in schools in Corvallis, OR to improve their skills with fractions. Taught an Intro to Databases class in Albany, OR.

Met with teachers, parents, and students to create user stories. Wrote technical specifications, mocked up website user interface, and managed programming tasks with developers in India. Created the curriculum outline and sample lessons, and trained and supervised teachers and translators to create additional online, interactive, multilingual lessons that met the same standards. Received a National Science Foundation grant through the OSU Accelerator.Managed a team of three students in the Oregon State University Computer Science Capstone course; introduced them to Slack, GitHub and Azure; and heavily modified the project scope and sprints to better meet their low skill sets so that they could accomplish very small tasks and slowly build their skills; handled communication and student evaluations.

While gaining 501(c)3 status for Harmony Academies, was advised to spin off the e-learning platform as a separate business: this became E.A.S.Envisioned and designed an e-learning platform; spent five years in daily testing and development through three major iterations. Designed both the database structure and the website interface and communicated these specifications to the programmer.

First employee at a start-up: did a bit of everything at first then settled into developing a department that screened, trained and placed staff in other companies that worked with adults with developmental disabilities. This company eventually had over three hundred employees besides all the staff that were trained for outside placement.Switched to a consultant position: handled front-line tech support for people using a database I designed to manage the training and placement system. Helped people from other companies that were looking for staff, Renew employees managing applicants through the system, and applicants working toward being screened, trained and placed in a job.

Created and ran a private lab school to test the feasibility of a hybrid learning education system, of which the e-learning platform was an integral part, with actual teachers and students; communicated their needs to the programmer.
