Dr. Cheol-Young Maeng is a professor at the Bio College of mySUNI, where he conducts research and consults to support a comprehensive understanding of the group members in the Bio/Healthcare industry, which is the core business area of SK Group, and to capture new business opportunities through competency development in this field.He has a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin.Before joining mySUNI in March 2024, Dr. Maeng was the Chief Technology Officer and Head of the R&D Division at SK Biopharmaceuticals for eight years, leading a team of over a hundred scientists and engineers in developing innovative drugs and platforms for various therapeutic areas, including CNS diseases and cancers. He successfully cleared four US FDA IND applications for FIH trials, launched the proprietary drug discovery platform 'HUBLE' integrating multiple AI models, and established collaborations with academia, research institutions, hospitals, and biotech companies. Dr. Maeng's mission is to advance the science and technology of drug discovery and development and to contribute to the improvement of human health and well-being.
