This position provides comprehensive care coordination for patients as assigned. This position assesses the patient's plan of care and develops, implements, monitors and documents the utilization of resources and progress of the patient through their care, facilitating options and services to meet the patient's health care needs. The intensity of care coordination provided is situational and appropriate based on patient need and payer requirements. This position is accountable for the quality of clinical services delivered by both them and others and identifies/resolves barriers which may hinder effective patient care.

L&D, level III, 7pm to 7am. Maternal Outpatient Room for triaging the pregnant woman, also caring for the occasional Gyn/Onc patient.Responsible for patient care to the woman in labor, during delivery, or during her recovery period, also involving the newly born infant during couplet care in the first 2-4 hours following birth; a woman during her antepartum period of her pregnancy with issues related to preterm labor, preeclampsia, placenta previa, or a medical issue compromising her pregnancy.Responsible for the pregnant woman deliveried by Cesarean Section in the Operating Room,and in the Recovery Room.Co-chair of Perinatal Bereavement Committee. Leads and assists other committee members in teaching other staff members how to care for the bereaved family, obtain photographs, foot and hand molds, and footprints of their "angel baby", and how to deal with their loss.Member of the Annual Labor and Delivery Bereavement Committee Memorial Service (a sub committee of the Bereavement Committee). Assists in planning year long for the one day event, very important to the Bereavement Committee and their families. Also involved in the singing group the "Nightingale's" that provide accompanied singing for the event.Enjoy working with OB/GYN Interns and Residents during their 4 years at UMC. Also work with Nursing and Medical Students, and EMTs, Paramedics and Flight Nurses earning their needed hours in Labor and Delivery. Served as a preceptor to a Pima Community College Nursing Student, two NAU students, and filling in for other preceptors in their absence.Served on the "Watchchild" committee, while the charting operating software was being updated and assisted the other staff members as a "Superuser".Was chosen to receive the Nurse of the Year Award of Excellence for Contribution to Patients at the First Annual Banner University Medical Center Tucson and South Nurse Day Awards by a group of peers, 2016, for work done with families with perinatal losses.

Labor & Delivery, level III, 7pm to 7am.As a per diem nurse I was responsible for patient care to the woman in labor, during delivery, or during her recovery period; a woman during her antepartum period of her pregnancy with issues related to preterm labor, preeclampsia, placenta previa, or a medical issue compromising her pregnancy.Responsible for the pregnant woman delivering by Cesarean Section in the Operating Room, as well as circulating the case.Responsible for the mom just delivered by Cesarean Section in the Recovery Room.

Labor and Delivery, Level III, 7pm to 7am.Responsible for the pregnant woman being evaluated in triage for labor or for whatever she seeks treatment for.Responsible for patient care to the woman in labor, during delivery, or during her recovery period; a woman during her antepartum period of her pregnancy with issues related to preterm labor, preeclampsia, placenta previa, abruption or various medical issues compromising her pregnancy.Responsible for the pregnant woman delivering by Cesarean Section in the Operating Room, as well as circulating the case.Responsible for the mom just delivered by Cesarean Section in the Recovery Room. Enjoyed working with OB/GYN Interns and Residents during their 4 years at UTMCK.Frequently in charge of the 12 bed unit, 4 triage beds, 3 ORs.Voted RN Clinical Excellence in 1997 by my peers.

11pm-11amMedical/Surgical unit with specialty in Chronic Renal Disease. Prepared patients for hemodialysis. On the unit, performed peritoneal dialysis. Participated in resuscitation of very ill patients.

Post Critical Care Unit. 7pm-7am.Step-down unit for Critical Care. Telemetry. Specialized in post- CABG, Cardiac Rehab, wound care, medical management of various heart and lung disorders. Served as Patient Care Manager (charge nurse) for 6 months.
