Michele Lewis (my business partner and friend) and I started 374 Consultants to house the projects we are passionate about. ESEL Seminars is one of those projects. Our specialty is helping our senior leaders and special operations team members transition from their military careers to the public sector. We are also authors and podcasters. 374 Consultants is focused on bringing life balance to veterans and their families.

I am honored to assist the executive military service members who have bravely and faithfully served our country for decades. I am pleased to give back by helping them transition from their executive leadership roles into the civilian job market.ESEL Seminars focus on senior military leaders and special operations team members and their transition into the civilian job market. Each participant will receive guided coaching in researching the job markets, resume writing, interviewing skills, and the art of negotiating. Following the seminar, all participants have continued support from our executive career coaches for career development.The skills that have served me well in this role are career coaching, communication, marketing, and motivational speaking.

As a hiring manager, I was part of a professional team tasked with finding the most qualified candidates to fill roles for the global Army TAP program. Putting together the right team to assist those brave men and women who serve us in the US Army was a task I took very seriously and did with pride. Our goal was to help the service member transitioning out of the Army into the private sector be as prepared as possible to ensure they find employment beyond their military service that is fulfilling and allows them to utilize all of the skills they have developed. We need a solid team to assist these soldiers.In this role, I developed communication skills that build better relationships. Organizational and data skills have always been my strong suits, and I have utilized these skills to the fullest during my tenure. During this role, I focused on developing my data analysis skills as well as contract management. This opportunity allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the breakdown of government contracts.

As Assistant Regional Project Manager, I organized workshops for more than 70 facilitators at military sites across 26 states. The Dept of Labor Employment workshops are a part of the Transition Assistant Program offered to military service members who are leaving the military for the civilian workforce. While in this role, our team had a 100% fulfillment of workshops with zero cancellations. Not only is that a testament to the management skills but also to the commitment of the team to management. Building team morale and loyalty was a huge part of this job.In this role, I was able to develop my project management skills and communication. In addition, critical thinking and problem-solving were a must.

As the Operations Process Manager, I was responsible for finding new effective ways to maintain records, prepare schedules, process travel expenses, and keep the general day-to-day flow of the operations smooth. I handled time sheets for more than seventy facilitators. I also booked travel for our facilitators within the twenty-six states in our region. Working directly with accounting to ensure all travel was paid on time was a weekly task.In this role, I developed my organizational skills as well as my time management skills. Communication was key to success in this role, ensuring the processes I implemented were easy for the team to adapt to and effective to save time.During this time, I was also serving as a traveling facilitator for the Department of Labor workshops offered through the transition assistance program for our military. Serving as a facilitator while building processes for the team to utilize gave me great insight into developing processes connected with the role.

I have more than a decade of success in coaching others in setting goals, developing strategies to achieve those goals, and understanding "next step" processes to continue on the road to success. I have developed a type of mindset that incorporates the Lean Process ideals into entrepreneurship and the outcome is a "work smarter not harder" concept.The belief that your health is your wealth drives my philosophies in developing a health based plan for each of my personal development clients. I train individuals on how to create new effective habits and to understand how these habits will put them on track to reach their goals and living an exceptionally healthy life. I developed and supervised the day to day processes to organize and keep this international community on task and growing. I was the "go to" person for questions and concerns of community members. I built automated systems that created streamlined process for all members. Communication, organization, and technical skills were be my focus.

I opened Serenity Health & Fitness Center LLC to give everyone a place to come and workout with no stress, no judgements and tons of personal attention. Serenity was a place of nurturing and knowledge. Not a typical "gym" but instead a place that I'm proud to say clients would always tell me they couldn't wait to get there to workout and spend time with our Serenity family. The closing of the original studio in December of 2012, while sad and difficult,has now opened the door to reach so many others with as Serenity message as Serenityfit LLC.
