Dr. Boyd is a licensed psychologist in a private psychotherapy and consulting practice in Philadelphia, PA. Her psychotherapy practice with adults and adolescents specializes in working with individuals and couples from a collaborative and compassionate approach. She works with trauma, anxiety and depression, relationship concerns, grief, life transitions, and identity development. As a committed advocate and ally for BIPOC as well as the LGBTQ+ community, she is dedicated to creating a safe therapeutic space for clients with marginalized identities and to working toward inclusion and equity in society overall. She was a Director of Training for graduate and postdoctoral clinicians from 2000-2020 and is committed to excellence in training and the provision of services with the highest standard of care. She continues to provide clinical supervision for psychologists, social workers, counselors, and those in training.As a consultant, Dr. Boyd works with organizations on issues pertaining to overall wellness, healthy work relationships, clinical supervision/training, and on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from a social justice perspective. Dr. Boyd brings her expertise and passion for social justice and professional development in corporate settings, school systems, universities, and communities to her work as a consultant and trainer. She is a warm and spirited national presenter in the area of diversity, equity and inclusion as well as in mindfulness-based approaches to teaching and learning, administration, mental health services, and community engagement. Dr. Boyd is also a published author of scholarly journal articles and co-editor of books on affirmative approaches to serving the multicultural LGBTQ+ community. She is a recipient of the Models of Excellence Award from the University of Pennsylvania for her service to the LGBTQ+ community and of the Service Award from the Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans Issues in Counseling.
