Hello...I started this business with my husband in 1981 with $56.00 in my pocket. All OJT to professional in ground vinyl liner pools, after 35 years of owning and as some of you know, my dear partner and husband died Dec. 2015, this debt free biz is currently for sale. I cannot proceed with the time honoring work he and I started so long ago.My work includes, A\P, A\R, yearly taxes, advertising, web design, service work on pools, installing in ground liner & covers. Lately its mostly been consulting work in a niche industry. My brain knows pools, my life says move on. Though I would love to continue, physically and mentally it is very difficult without my partner, so looking for a new career path. I'm an excellent sales lady, friendly, know my profession, but seems to be out of the normal spectrum in what companies need. Started this company with $56.00 to my name and we have had over 3-4 million dollars gross receipts in the past 20 years. We first started our business in St. Louis MO on the 'southside' in the Botanical Garden area. We moved to the country to raise our daughter so we had to invent a way to conduct business from our country home that involved lots of brain storming. In 1994 we teamed up with Hydra Pools Inc., a manufacture of polymer wall pools in TN. They were willing to sell to us and delivery pool kits directly to our customers. We both worked out kinks in the business relationship, did some advertising in national magazines for DIYer's, started a web site in 1999 and off to the races. Soon the internet business took off, we were able to ship kits all over the U.S.A., the past ten years we have increased our speciality liner line ten fold because our our customer service. Not so much our prices but the ability to help customers to install pools and liners without us being there plus trying to purchase from manufactures making products in America. Just a phone call or email away before a major part of construction is done. I have added instructional based pictures to our gallery to facilitate how to do certain aspects of installation. The nationwide recession is still here in the high ticket items. The seasonal business owner must have the guts to save all your extra capital to make it through the cold season. Many business have folded, had to get loans or left the state. Us, we trudged on finding ways to keep us moving through the tough times. Research & find housing units through geographical maps, talking to local Governments & local neighbors to find the HU. Once found had to determine if Rented, vacant or occupied. If occupied get the interview for The American Housing Survey; 100% retrieval & 93% interview rate. Ever been to "Nowhere MO"? I have been to places that neighbors had not heard of the road. Fun doing the investigation & research.
