As the Chief Human Resource Officer, I am accountable for developing and executing the human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically to support top talent, a high performance and inclusive culture, and to help shape the organization to effectively lead into the future.

One of the largest global insurance companies with ~29B in revenue and 25,000 employees in 11 countries. As Global Head of HR for Corporate and Investments, supported the President of Asset Management, the Chief Investment Officer, the Chief Information Officer, the CFO and CRO. Accountable for a large, complex environment inclusive of eight business units and 7,500 employees worldwide. Member of Sun Life Investment Management Executive Team, the Global Enterprise Services Executive Team, and the Global Human Resources Executive Team (HRET).• Successfully led the HR due diligence for three US-based acquisitions, with 100% employee retention and 95%+ client retention two years post close.• Introduced advanced analytics while incorporating external talent trending to ensure the workforce plan was future ready. • Introduced external talent acquisition strategy, substantially improving bench strength, employee brand, and doubling succession options.• Co-led successful multi-year “One York” new global headquarters initiative, comprising site selection, construction partnering, business case for equity ownership, multi-hundred million dollar budget development, design concept “moving from me to we” to support innovation and high performance. Completed on budget, employee engagement and retention improved significantly due to the new “Agile” work environment, and “One York” became to blueprint for all other offices globally.

The BMA is Bermuda’s financial regulator and central bank. Bermuda has the world’s second largest reinsurance sector, representing more than half its GDP. Hired to assist CEO reposition the BMA to effectively meet the pending 2012 EU regulatory standards to prevent duplicative capital requirements and re-domiciling of a significant number of Bermuda-based reinsurance firms.• Key contributor to development of business case for substantial additional fees from industry to support the BMA’s cost of meeting EU equivalency standards. • Developed an integrated HR strategy, a strategic workforce planning model including supervisory risk management, and a three-year organization restructuring plan with organization metrics tools that was presented to and accepted by the Board of Directors, and subsequently successfully implemented on time and within budget.• Strengthened relationships internally with the Human Capital Committee of the Board of Directors, enabling greater transparency and improved decision making, as well as externally with other regulators, including the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), enabling greater synergies and easer of secondment movements.

Ernst and Young combined the Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Cayman Islands offices (BBC) and integrated these operations into the US Financial Service Office (FSO). BBC’s earnings represented a significant percentage of the FSO’s annual $US 1B in revenues and were strategic to the US operations. Mandate included further integration and alignment between the BBC and FSO. • Developed the BBC strategy that integrated distinct practices, including very separate “lock step Parity Partnerships,” across three offshore practices into the US practice.• Successfully implemented cultural change through the launch of flexibility, diversity and inclusiveness programs, enabling staff originating from 25 countries to engage more quickly upon arrival. Implemented new performance management and compensation strategies.• Launched “Career Watch,” a learning and development strategy that led to a 20% increase of women on the Partner Track.• Managed the closing of five major business units as well as the unprecedented transition of the Bermuda partnership legal entity (LLP) into a limited liability corporation (LLC).
