I have taught eighth grade English/Language Arts during my entire career at Perry Middle School. I have additionally taught eighth grade American History and seventh grade ELA. I have also served in many leadership roles on Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) such as Eighth Grade Team Leader, ELA Teacher Leader, Mentor Teacher, Resident Educator Mentor (for RE-1 and RE-2), and the Local Professional Development Committee (LPDC). I have coached cheerleading, Power of the Pen, organized the Spelling Bee, and served as a chaperone on the eighth grade Washington, D.C. Trip for numerous years.

I began my teaching career instructing seventh and eighth grade English at the middle school. The following year, I taught third, fourth, and fifth grade science at the elementary level. I remained in the elementary school and taught third grade then looped with the students the following year to instruct them as fourth graders. I was then transferred to the high school where I taught ninth and tenth grade English, grades 9-12 Creative Writing, and grades 9-12 Poetry.

I was hired as a part time File Clerk, then quickly moved to full time. The following year, I was promoted to Receptionist. The next year, I was promoted to CT Desk which made me responsible for assisting other EMJ branches as well as obtaining quotes for metal services. Next, I was promoted to Sales Trainee. After leaving and securing a teaching job, I returned to EMJ the following summer. I served as the Secretary to the Inside Sales Manager at that time. I also assisted in many of the capacities I previously served and did so for many additional summers.

I answered phones, assisted students and parents, delivered mail, signed out keys, and dealt with fire drills within the Eastway Center dormitories.

I was a summer appointed Clerk Typist (GS-3) at the Army Recruiting Command located in the Rockefeller Building. I provided various office assistance such as answering phones, filing, and typing.
