Registered Apprenticeship CoordinatorEldon Career Center And Lake Career Technical Center Mar 2018 - Feb 2020Since the Department of Labor's opening to Registered Youth Apprenticeships (RYA) in 2018, I have had the opportunity to pilot the first in Missouri cooperative Career and Technical Education(CTE) program. In collaboration with Department of Labor, Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, and Department of Elementary and Secondary Education we created the youth version of apprenticeship. Under the leadership of CTE Directors Jackie Jenkins and Kelli Engelbrecht, the two career centers impacted 10 high schools. We have received national and state attention for this endeavor. Working with employers to help fill their industry needs and working with teens in career readiness has been a great intersection of all things I enjoy: Education, Human Resources, Marketing and Collaborating, and more importantly, being a part of something bigger than myself. We were the only program to receive the MORAP Grant for a consecutive two years. We were also chosen by TransPORTs to be a program of excellence. Due to the funding ceasing, the position was not longer funded by the school districts. During this occupation, I was able to be a panelist at the Governor's Apprenticeship Summit; plan and execute numerous apprenticeship workshops; Youth Apprenticeship Key Note Speaker at the TransPORTs Apprenticeship Summit in Long Beach California to the Port Authority; Ranked number 1 in the state for most employers and apprentices in Missouri; First CTE to complete a RYA; Most in state for registered occupations in RYA
