Cynthia brings deep expertise in business strategy, marketing positioning, target marketing and operational planning to her clients. She built a successful retail and consumer product consulting firm, Strategic Mindshare, before focusing on early stage companies with IMPACT 2040. Her work includes advising founders at any stage from ideation to exit planning. Cynthia also advises venture capital firms and works with several startup accelerators. She frequently is a business plan judge and has been a national EY Entrepreneur of the Year judge. Cynthia is an experienced public and private company board member having served on 12 public company boards of directors and is recognized as a board governance expert. She is currently a board member of several private companies. Cynthia is Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Boston University and on the MET College Advisory Board. She helped found The Innovation Pathway process at Innovate@BU and currently sponsors the Founder Program at Vanderbilt University's the Wond'ry. She is passionate about mentoring young women and helping women entrepreneurs grow scalable businesses. In 2014 Cynthia initiated her New York City Dinner Salons, hosting curated groups of tech experts, entrepreneurs and angels. In 2023 she initiated her Nashville Breakfast Salons for curated groups of people in the local startup ecosystem. The salons are designed to amuse, inform and exchange ideas. At the same time in 2023 she announced her personal challenge to hold 200 Snack Cake Meetings with individuals playing key roles in the Nashville startup ecosystem by the end of 2024.
