Helping young people realize their greater destiny and achieve for themselves has been the theme of my career. I’m committed to helping other foundations develop their vision and strategy for philanthropy, and realize the power of working together in improving and changing lives. As inaugural Director of the Florida Prepaid College Foundation, we’re reaching thousands of vulnerable children to provide a debt-free pathway to a college education. Our latest initiative provides scholarships with a dollar-for-dollar match targeting the 800,000 children living in the 150 zip codes of poverty. As Secretary of the Florida Lottery, our reimagined gaming brand and marketing helped achieve record breaking growth and efficiencies among U.S. lotteries – contributing $1 billion to public education. As a change agent for nonprofits and corporations in challenging private and public assignments, my executive management has centered primarily on enhancing opportunities for education and employment. These two fundamental building blocks drive self-confidence, financial and emotional stability, and a better quality of life in the people I’ve had the privilege to serve.I’m honored to have also served as a longtime Trustee of the University of Florida and am blessed with the lifetime of deep connections it has provided. My life of public service, and with it, the opportunity to serve the higher good of all Floridians, continues to be a great blessing in this beautiful state that I dearly love.
