For 16 years the tagline of my business was "leading pathways to mindful living". I loved facilitating thousands of seminars while sharing my personal stories and strategies to help people manage change, deal with stress, overcome burnout and set boundaries.Two months ago after surrendering to my own burnout (yet again) I decided it was time to resign. Within three weeks the closets were organized, windows clean, clothes and items were donated - all of the things that I thought were important that I couldn't quite find the energy to do while working. Yet that familiar feeling of 'what's next' became very strong and I considered returning to the contract position that was the base of my career for 14 years. My wise and retired husband suggested that I hadn't really given retirement a try so I decided to sit with the feelings and allow what's next to become clearer rather than running back to what was familiar. In my heart I know I will continue helping people, it's such a part of me and I don't want to do it on Zoom or Teams! Connection is important in this age of technology, it is one of the pillars of resilience.
