My expertise is at the intersection between technology and mental health and wellness. My passion is to improve people's resilience through the design of evidence-based programs and technologies such as mobile applications and online courses. I have employ my skills as an app designer, game designer, instructional designer, coach, instructor and speaker. I design systems that help people change behaviors and get what they want out of life. As Faculty at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston in the School of Health Information Sciences, I got much of my training by leading the Learning & Technology Program, which trains students in the design and application of technology for learning in the health sciences. I use my non-traditional background in neuroscience, learning and memory, cognitive science, psychology, and education, to create various technology learning and behavior change tools.
