Cynthia Short has helped transform companies throughout her career. A serial entrepreneur with a lifelong passion for human-centered strategy and problem-solving, Cynthia now serves as a Founder & Chief Experience Officer at Lexico - a transformation services consultancy. Here she works to infuse people-centered and experience-driven approaches in traditionally technology-centered spaces to facilitate better, more sustainable outcomes for businesses. Her goal is to ensure holistic solutions and differentiated experiences for clients, partners and team members.Cynthia has helped multiple brands and organizations navigate digital, customer, product, culture, brand, and business transformations, such as Harley-Davidson, GE Healthcare, Johnson Controls, Grant Thortnon, and Ascension Health. An advocate of putting the customer first, she has championed experience design and its application to business, entrepreneurship, social system design, and community development. She was a co-founder of Translator, an experience design agency that applied creativity to affect transformational change. Translator initiated a community-wide, cross-disciplinary dialogue in Milwaukee and served as a vital tool for spurring and supporting transformational social initiatives. Cynthia was also co-founder of Islands of Brilliance, a breakthrough learning workshop for neurodiverse children and young adults. In addition to starting these multiple endeavors, she has worked extensively with start-up communities in a variety of mentor capacities, including concept vetting, customer acquisition, business modeling and capital raises. Cynthia also launched the Girls in Tech Milwaukee chapter, dedicated to eliminating the gender gap in tech. She serves as an advisor for the National Council for Women in Technology Wisconsin Chapter, as well as chairs the Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (JEDI) Committee Chair for the Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast. Thinking differently, putting people first, challenging the status quo, and inspiring creative thinking to affect positive change are constant themes woven throughout Cynthia's career. And she applies them in her work with Lexico’s clients to guide them in transforming their own businesses.

OwnerTranslator Feb 2010 - Dec 2019Milwaukee, Wi, UsWe believe in the application of creativity to affect transformational change. Every opportunity we approach is focused on an outcome, not an output. This allows us to help organizations both large and small get “unstuck”. To the question of “What is it you do?”, these are the things we work on every day.Ours is an unconventional approach to be sure. Based solely on our belief system at the outset, it is now evident in diverse applications, that range from silo-busting software development, to exponential sales growth via brand building, to breakthrough educational curriculum design, to community connection and transformation initiatives, to Executive Board engagement design and facilitation. (Inhale) And that’s just the start. The fact we don’t fit any existing definition is intentional design on our part. To wit, what consultants would plan city wide conferences, host creativity platform events, and give away their time to the community? We would. That’s because if you want to make a difference, first you need the conviction to be something that no one’s ever seen before.www.translatormke.com -
