This role offered me the challenge of designing, developing and implementing a new software solution to replace an ageing solution that constituted a significant risk to the business.In the early days of this role it was necessary to analyse and document the existing software system, including current and expected future usages. This included consultation with the business unit involved to identify key risk points, opportunities for improvement and also an understanding of the role of the software within the business.Once the current system was documented and understood it was then necessary to develop a roadmap for the development of a new enterprise level solution that could evolve into a whole of business platform.During the design process of the new software solution it became necessary to design several different proposals to suit the needs of the business. These redesigns started from a broad scope that incorporated a micro service architecture to facilitate increased metric gathering, throughput, expansion and fault tolerance. The final accepted proposal was designed around mirroring of the existing software product in more modern technologies in the hopes of reducing the development timeframe of the system.Technology stack used in the initial development of the new product:C#AngularAzure SQL Database

I have worked in many teams over the course of my current employment including running our maintenance team for a time.This experience provided me with excellent opportunities to challenge my skills and to further the business objectives with our software systems.I have also worked on our client server based document systems including maintenance, improvements and performance tuning of databases to ensure that our clients are provided with the best possible experience with our software that we can make it.
