At Soft Venture we help Tech entrepreneurs to build successful companies in Asia.We provide business acceleration services to companies located in the US or Europe that want to start their operations in Asia. This includes support to commercial development as well as all aspects of corporate expansion, helping expansion-phase start-ups to tap into the growth opportunities in Asia. the industry domains of our team included: cloud computing, mobile networks, machine-to-machine, consumer robotics, mobile and web advertising platforms, NFC, mobile and digital payment, and digital security.While at Soft Venture, I designed corporate innovation programs in Asia for global MNCs, including sourcing and due diligence on start-ups. Clients included Gemalto (now part of Thales group) and Michelin group in Singapore and China.

My team redesigned the company processes around technology road mapping, global R&D portfolio management, and innovation management for an R&D workforce of over 1,000 staff spread across 10 countries. We relaunched our in-house incubator to bring accountability and drive results, leading to several successful new product lines. An award from AT-Kearney recognised the way we restructured our R&D and innovation programs. I also personally managed Gemalto's minority investment portfolio in tech companies (corporate venturing), including V3 Smart Technologies, a Singapore Internet-of-things company. I led due diligence in Asia, with a focus on innovative companies in Korea in the field of digital payments.

I led an Asia Pacific-wide marketing team focusing on transforming the business from hardware to solutions and services sales. These were the premises of Near-Field-communication mobile payment, and we succeeded with significant wins in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. In classical SIM card products, we rolled out a new range of low-cost products customised to Asian customers' needs. I drove the software and solutions sales team in China to increase revenue five-fold in two years, concentrating on China Mobile as a key account. I led business development efforts in Hong Kong and Taiwan on solutions, specifically on Trusted Service Manager solutions (mobile payment infrastructure).

I managed 22 marketers, promoting SIM products and associated solutions (Value-Added-Services servers, Over-The-Air platforms), in charge of pricing, tender coordination, forecasting and budgeting for a business over EUR300 Million, reporting to the SVP Sales EMEA. Managed the top pan-European and UK telecom groups, including Orange, T-Mobile, Hutchison and Vodafone, and won multiple bids over EUR30m in products and services

I was hand-picked by the Europe, Middle-East and Africa Vice-President during a silicon chip shortage crisis to interface between a 100-strong sales team and the manufacturing team. With a carefully managed supply strategy and customer prioritisation, the company gained market share and established itself as the market leader. As a result, the executive committee awarded me the Employee of the Year title (year 2000).
