(1) Perform broad range of transmission planning analysis through the application of power systems planning principles to simulate and analyze the power system steady state and dynamic behavior to determine the resource impact on the reliability of the US Bulk Power System (BPS). (2) Perform studies in the power flow, transient stability and short-circuit related areas for transmission and generator interconnection using state-of-the-art in-house software PSS®E and other industry software such as TARA, ASPEN and others. (3) Lead and supported more than 70 technical Feasibility (FES) and System Impact Studies (SIS) for Independent System Operators (ISO) like ISO-NE and NYISO, for interconnection of Inverter based Resources (IBRs) like solar (stand-alone/storage), Wind (Type 3/4), Battery Energy Storage (BES) and Merchant Transmission Projects including HVDC (LCC/VSC technology).(4) Collaborated in performing annual assessment studies like Facility Studies(FS)/Class Year Studies (CY) for NYISO and short circuit studies for Lonestar/ERCOT. Also worked on other specialized studies concerning IBRs like SSTI, UIF and MIIF. (5) Develop and presented technical reports and presentations summarizing results of analysis with stake-holders like the Developers, Transmission Owners (TO) and ISO. (6) Support proposal preparation by developing project plans, budgets, and timelines. (7) Serve as instructor for Siemens Power Academy delivering customized courses within PSS®E related course-work for Power System engineers and other entities. (8) Trained/mentored new joined colleagues to the team in performing various studies and reviewed their work.

(1) Collaborated in processing,screening of around 370 interconnection requirement studies (IRS) for integration of various Distributed energy resources (DERs) onto the utility’s distribution grid. Also reviewed impact study results including stability, voltage regulation, fault current contribution, islanding, power quality, reverse power flow, flicker etc(2) Carried out load flow analysis for around 50 radial distribution circuits(23/13.8/4 kV) on CYMDIST simulation package to identify potential feeder loading issues and analyze voltage profiles, real/reactive flows, transformer/capacitor banks controls, reclosure status etc(3) Performed contingency analysis on the 115 kV transmission network of Cape Cod, MA in Siemens PSS/E and worked on proposals to make the region grid more reliable, robust for 20 years forecasted load scenario(4) Studied procedure of implementing and determining transmission facility ratings using Siemens NX9 (thermal analysis),as per guidelines set up in ‘ISO New England Planning Procedure No.7’(5) Assisted in population and roll-out of PI process-book,which shows one-line diagrams of each sub-station with live SCADA points including MW,MVAR,Ampere flow,breaker status,bus voltage,ASU and reclosure loads and statuses and other SCADA archival information.An additional 170 circuits were rolled out.

(1) Prepared (in team) the Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) for all the electrical auxiliaries like synchronous generators (up to 70 MVA), relay, metering, synchronizing equipment/panels, various high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) switchgears, Power/Distribution Transformers, Induction Motors Power/ Control / Instrument cables as per the Indian Standard (IS) and International Standards (IEEE,IEC). The same document followed for the in-process /final inspection at the vendors works/premises.(2) Witnessed testing/inspection/Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at the vendor premises of the aforesaid electrical commodities as per the QAP.(3) Reviewed test reports/documents and make sure the parameters are permissible/within limits as per the relevant test standard clauses.(4) Responsible for issuing the final Inspection clearance of the electrical commodities to be finally dispatched to the customer site location, from vendor works.
