As a Video Editor for the Department of Animal Sciences, I worked with several teams to create new website-facing videos to attract prospective students and aid in academics for current students. I coordinated visits to all of the farming facilities on campus and compiled media that best represented the farm.

I have worked as a staff member in various laboratories ranging from behavior, nutrition, and reproduction. I have gained experience working with programs and tools such as Soloman Coder, cryostats, ELISA, ImageJ, and Excel to communicate my findings in immunohistochemistry, behavioral variables, and neurological scans. Working on four research trials in different areas of research allowed me to expand my general knowledge. When I was not in the laboratory, I was gaining hands-on experience with pigs, hamsters, mice, and rats in blood and tissue collections, fertility assays, and euthanasia.

As a Teaching Assistant, I constructed lesson plans and facilitated conversations for over sixty students. I worked alongside my lead professor and aided her by following strict grading rubricks and updating weekly grades for each student. Using interpersonal skills, I mentored freshman and transfer classes in the Contemporary Animal Sciences classroom.

As Treasurer for a LGBTQ+ Student Organization on campus, I was responsible for our $3,000 budget and organizing a school-wide dance for LGBTQ+ students and allies. I facilitated conversations, provided resources and aid to students, and met with other members of the Executive Board to further improve our club. During my time as Treasurer, we saw the greatest turnout of students compared to previous years.

During my time as a Lead Trainer for one of the service dogs in training at 4 Paws for Ability, I utilized and improved upon my knowledge of animal behavior. The dog stayed in my care for four months where I was the primary person responsible for her care, health, and improvement in training. My patience and passion guided me as I taught an eight-week-old puppy potty training, basic commands, and confidence in new situations. I was required to attend monthly training, fill out bi-weekly forms, and provide veterinary care for the puppy.
