I’ve taken on the monumental task of spreading the word about our mission to persuade top tech companies to see the future through our lens (and a lot of enthusiastic DMs). As chief evangelist, I believe in leading from the front—whether that’s with big dreams, a bigger food intake, or a passion for seeing BuildingBloCS through every step of the way. I juggle logistics, partnerships, and the occasional existential crisis, all while convincing organizations that we’re the next big thing they didn’t know they needed.

I monitored and enforced high-quality standards for “organized chaos” during events, ensuring participants were only slightly disoriented by our strategically placed signage and mildly existential during hackathons. I took it upon myself to conduct extensive quality inspections of food and beverages to guarantee they met the organizers’ consumption quota before sharing them with actual participants. Meanwhile, the event website operated with precisely 2.3% more functionality than the average student project—just enough to keep everyone guessing when the next downtime will be.The above was a satirical description (as recommended by the rest of the team); I currently serve as a member of the outreach, web development, and design committees. I contributed to securing sponsorships, maintaining the website, and assisting with event logistics. I helped organize the 2024 June conference, a flagship AI-themed event, which attracted 200 participants from 56 schools and featured a fireside chat with Dr. He Ruimin, Singapore’s Chief AI Officer, at SiSingapore’sagement University. Previously, I led a community booth at BuildingBloCS 2023 as the founder of SAIS Hack Club, helping establish two more Hack Clubs in Singapore.

Since 9th grade, I have been conducting bioinformatics research under the mentorship of Professor Jake Y. Chen at the AI.MED laboratory of the Informatics Institute at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, USA. My research focuses on a novel approach for spatial gene expression analysis, which led to the creation of the Radar Scanning Plots (RSP) method. This method aims to enhance the understanding of cellular functions and gene networks by integrating spatial context and addressing the limitations of traditional methods in handling sparse gene expression data. My research abstract was accepted for both oral and poster presentations at the prestigious GIW ISCB ASIA 2023 conference, held in Singapore from November 18th to 21st, 2023. As the youngest speaker, my presentation and poster received acclaim from attending scientists.
